Tummy Tuck Price Variance

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Pretty much all online sources of information have a different average or range of tummy tuck prices…

Docshop.com- $3,000 to $10,000
Wikipedia.org- $5,000 to $20,000
Realself.com- $5,000 to $9,000, $6,000  to $8,000, according to doctors. $8,684 is the average cost of the tummy tucks that the users of the site received.

This all reiterates the fact that there is no one set price for a tummy tuck.

Are tummy tucks worth it?

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

There are a lot of cosmetic procedures, such as Titan and Thermage, which are expensive and leave a lot of customers angry that they got the treatment. Is this the case with tummy tucks? No. On realself.com, which lets users post reviews on the plastic surgery they’ve gotten, tummy tucks are recommended by a solid majority. 84% said that the procedure was worth it.  The 16% of people who  wish they had not gotten the surgery felt that the results were minimal considering the cost or felt that the side effects (dead skin, seromas, etc) were too much. Those who recommended the surgery said that, despite the high cost, they got, in return, confidence and self-esteem after the amazing results. After glancing at these reviews on realself.com (simply search for tummy tuck once you’re at the home page) you’ll notice that there isn’t much of a correlation between cost and whether or not the patient was happy with the procedure. This means that you have to use your own intuition in deciding how good a particular plastic surgeon will make your tummy tuck.
